Welcome to Class 3 Teacher – Miss Miall Teaching Assistant – Miss Manship
It has been a very exciting time in Class 3 recently and we are sure the excitement will not be stopping any time soon.
The year started very mysteriously with the discovery of an intruder at school leaving behind eggs and unbelievable CCTV footage. Did you see the dragon of Grange Primary School flying through the sky?
We have been reading about dragons in two books ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ and ‘Eragon’ which has opened our eyes to the wonderful lives of dragons. This has sparked a lot of enthusiasm and excitement in our writing, where we have been using adjectives, alliteration and connectives to create our own interesting sentences and story’s.
In topic we are focusing on castles. We can name the parts of a castle and the different jobs that people had. We all decided we wouldn’t want the smelly job of a gong farmer!! (toilet cleaner). We look forward to learning more interesting facts about castles.
We have been getting creative creating masks, shields and our own dragon kingdom maps. Some children have even been getting creative at home - look at some of their masterpieces!
In science we have been looking at different materials. We have been on a discovery walk to see what materials we can find around the school, what properties they have and have sorted them in venn diagrams.
Class 3 are trying really hard with the daily reading challenge, making sure they read 4 times a week at home. We have all been given our own minion reading targets and hope to achieve them very quickly with help from our teachers, parents and carers ?.
