All children have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19). The impact of lost time in education is substantial for children, particular those who are most vulnerable or from disadvantaged backgrounds. Schools have been provided with funding to support the catch-up of all children.

At Grange Primary School we are receiving: £23,840

At Grange Primary School we have considered the age of our children when deciding how to allocate and spend our money. We have also used the government recommended ‘COVID-19 Support Guide for Schools’ published by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) to identify the best strategies, based on long term research, that will enable us to achieve the most positive outcomes.

 

At Grange we understand that all children now need to make excellent progress to ensure they are working at or above age-related expectations and are fully prepared for the next stage of their learning at the end of primary school. Excellent progress at Grange Primary School involves:

 

• Catching up
• Filling gaps
• Deepening understanding
• Overcoming barriers

 

We will use the funding to address issues arising from gaps in children's knowledge and understanding as identified through assessment.  These priorities will be assessed during the autumn term.

 

The impact of the funding will be measured by comparing the Spring 2020 assessments with the Summer 2021 assessments. Children should have maintained or made better progress since the period of lockdown started taking into account individual circumstances where necessary.
