School Meals
We have the facilities to provide our children with hot meals. The meals are provided by a company called Chartwell. They provide a wide range of choices each day for the children. All meals are ordered directly through Chartwells. Please use the link below
https://nel.mealselector.co.uk/
Children are able to pre-order their choice of dinners. Through this system children are able to choose dinners for each day of the week or just have hot meals on a few selected days.
Please note that meals are ordered TWO weeks in advance therefore if your child wishes to have school dinners.
If you require any further information please do not hesitate to pop in and speak to Mrs Hodson or contact the school on 01472 232030

RE: Management of Allergens in Chartwells
I have no doubt that you will have seen recent news reports around allergens. This is an issue we take extremely seriously and we understand our responsibility to the children and young people we serve.
I would like to reassure you that we are constantly reviewing our processes and systems for the management of allergens and the prevention of allergy incidents. These reviews are led by our team, which includes our Health and Safety and Food Safety Director as well as nutritionists, chefs and food allergy specialists. As a result of this regular monitoring, earlier this year we put in place a detailed allergen management plan that has been implemented across Chartwells.
One key area this includes is the development of an allergen awareness programme, to support the training that our colleagues receive in respect of allergens. This will be a continuously rolling programme, to help our people understand and manage food that contains allergens.
If you have any questions or need further reassurance regarding our allergen management process, please do not hesitate to contact me through chartwells.specialdiets@compass-group.co.uk and we would be happy to discuss the matter further.
Yours faithfully,
Richard Taylor
Managing Director, Chartwells
Universal Free School Meals
All children in reception, year 1 or year 2 at a state funded school are now entitled to a universal free school lunch. This does not apply to children in school nursery classes unless they are eligible for free school meals for income reasons.
However, parents of infants who might be entitled are still expected to apply for free school meals because it enables our school to access additional funding which is used to provide additional support to improve access to learning.
Children in Year 3 and above may be also entitled to receive Free School Meals if parents are in receipt of financial support, please contact the North East Lincs website for full details: https://www.nelincs.gov.uk/benefits/free-school-meals/
Free School Meals for Children above Year 2
You can claim free school meals for a child if the child is in full-time education, you are responsible for the child, and you get at least one of the following benefits:
- Income support
- Income based job seekers allowance
- Income related employment and support allowance
- Guaranteed pension credit
- Child tax credit with an annual income each year of less than £16,190 (as assessed by tax credits)
- Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Universal credit
If you receive child tax credit and working tax credit, your child will not qualify for free school meals.
IMPORTANT: Even if your child receives Universal Free School Meal (Reception, year 1 and year 2) it is still important to apply for it, because the school will receive additional funding known as the pupil premium for every eligible pupil.
